Eight photographers, two great models, and whole lot of flashing going on!
Thankfully, everyone kept their clothes on (it wasn’t that kind of flashing!) and a lot of fun was had by all as participants of the Sensational Strobing workshop wrapped their heads around the intricacies of shooting with speedlights and studio strobes.
Sensational Strobing is a workshop for photographers interested in coming to grips with using speedlights and studio flashes. The workshop covers the basics of using speedlights on e-TTL (auto through-the-lens) in combination with bounce flash, through to more complex strobing setups using remotely triggered speedlights and studio strobes both indoors and outdoors!
The workshop emphasises hands-on participation through a variety of creative photoshoots with our fantastic models, Dave and Justine, who posed for us in shoots that ranged from domestic portraiture to a homage to 1950s style and sentiment! Participants learned how to engage with and provide art direction to sitters and models to get the most out of them!
The strobing phenomenon has taken the photographic world by storm: the best strobists create images of great impact and drama, combining creative lighting with an eye for artistic detail! Have a look at the photos below, created by workshop participants David Winch and Sally Dexter Monteiro. My thanks to our outstanding models and to Stephen Humpleby for his very able assistance during the workshop.
A second Sensational Strobing workshop is scheduled for July 11. At time of writing, there are still three (3) places available. To book a place, please visit: www.thesnapshooter.net/workshops
