Have you always wanted to learn how to capture fast moving dogs at the beach? Join pet and nature photographer, Diana Andersen, for this fun pet photography workshop and learn how to freeze motion and capture the personality of your subjects.
Capturing dogs at liberty can be tricky but it’s not all luck. Learn how to direct your subjects to increase your chances of capturing great images. We will look at camera settings, shooting angles, and getting your exposure right. Learn how to alter your settings for multiple subjects.
You won’t be required to get in the water but be prepared to get a little wet and sandy! We can guarantee your models will put a smile on your face.
What you will learn
How to choose appropriate aperture, shutter and ISO settings.
The different types and uses of exposure metering modes.
Shooting action/moving subjects by using continuous focus modes.
Selecting single or small group focus points to track your subject
Shooting angles to enhance the impact of your images
Tricks for directing your subjects to get high impact shots.
What you will need
Your interchangeable lens camera (mirrorless or DSLR)
Telephoto/zoom lens between 200mm and 400mm
Circular polariser
The manual for your camera.
Notebook and a pen.
A towel or mat to sit or lay on.
This workshop is suitable for digital cameras with manual controls (P, A/Av, S/Tv and M modes) including DSLRs and interchangeable lens mirrorless cameras.
Note: We will be providing doggy “models” for this workshop, to allow you to photograph them in action. We would prefer that you work with our “models” instead of bringing your own dog, as you may get distracted by having to control your own dog, which may also distract the doggy “models”. Thank you for your understanding.
