If you’ve always wanted to learn how to capture soft and dreamy outdoor portraits in natural light, then this workshop is for you!
Learn about the best lenses that will let you create these style of portraits, and how to best use them.
Understand depth of field and discover how you can create super shallow depths of field in your portraits.
Find out how to position and pose your portrait subject for backlight, soft light and directional lighting in an outdoor environment.
Learn how to control and manage natural light outdoors to create the kind of lighting that evokes a dreamy look.
Whether you’re just starting out in portraiture or are a more experienced photographer, you’ll pick up great tips and techniques for creating portraits using natural light!
We begin this workshop with an overview of the settings, techniques and types of lenses used to create these style of portraits. Armed with an understanding of these key concepts and tips for shooting portraits, we’ll then shoot with our model/s on location at Kent Street Weir. With its natural bushland and riverine environments, this is a great location for outdoor portraiture.
When it gets closer to sunset, you’ll learn how to shoot backlit portraits and how to create a soft “veil” effect by allowing the sun to seep into your frame.
All this in two-hours of action pack learning by doing!
You’ll be led by professional photographer and portrait lighting teacher, Seng Mah, through the session and come away with great captures! It’s going to be a workshop that’s full of fun and, if you’re not a portrait photographer yet, it’ll make you fall in love with portraiture!
