It’s one thing to be able to capture a good landscape in-camera; it’s another to turn it into a GREAT image using the Raw processing power of Adobe Lightroom Classic!

“Landscapes with Lightroom” is a “show-and-tell” event that will show you how to unlock the potential in your image by envisioning it as a fine art landscape print. You’ll learn about the aesthetics of constructing a landscape image and how you can edit the image with intent, to create the look, effect, composition and mood you are after.

You’ll be shown the top tips and techniques for editing your landscape using the array of tools available in the Lightroom Classic Develop Module, and discover how to move beyond just using global adjustments by making effective use of local adjustments to target specific areas of the landscape image. Learn how you can use specific Lightroom tools to affect tonality and colour in your image, create colour grading effects and to dodge and burn to lead your viewer’s eye into the landscape.

This mini-workshop starts off with a live demonstration by Seng Mah, of the thinking and editing process, followed by an opportunity for you to edit your own landscape image using what you have learned. You will also have the opportunity to obtain a complimentary print of your landscape at Digidirect Cannington to see how your image has translated into print (alternatively, you can bring in a finished digital image to print at the premises).

Note: This workshop is designed for users who are already familiar with the basics of Lightroom and who would like to learn specific techniques in Lightroom used to edit landscape images. If you’re completely new to Lightroom or if you are a beginner, you are still welcome to attend to find out about the editing power of Lightroom, but this workshop will not be cover the basics of the Lightroom workflow and Lightroom editing, as we assume that attendees will already have a basic grounding in Lightroom.

What you’ll need:
  • Notebook and pen
  • Your laptop with Lightroom Classic installed — this is optional, only if you would like to edit an image of yours at the session.
  • A digital print (300ppi, full size) for printing.
