Are you ready for some intense high-speed action photography at the beach? This workshop will show you how to maximise your camera and photographic approach to capture intensive sports and athletic action on the sands and in the water!
You’ll be shooting with two very active fitness models as they sprint, leap, jump, splash and swirl for your cameras.

It’s all about shooting at very fast shutter speeds and honing your focus on the action, making sure you’re not missing a moment and timing your shot to capture the peak of the action. Whether you’re looking to learn more about action photography or just would like to catch some unique iconic Australian images, join us for a terrific morning of learning and action shooting!

Your instructor, Seng Mah, has years of experience shooting surf life saving events in WA, from beach sprints to surf rowing. He wiill be sharing his top techniques for nailing focus, timing your shots, freezing action and working with lighting at the beach. Then, you’ll be shooting our amazing models in a series of action-packet sessions, putting your new skills to good use. It’ll be a lot of fun in the sun and on the sand!

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

Your interchangeable lens camera (DSLR or mirrorless)
Lenses in the focal length range of 50mm – 200mm (or longer)
A fast memory card (check that your card Read Speed is at least 95Mbs as this often indicates a fast write speed).
Bring multiple cards as you’ll be shooting burst mode action.
Sunscreen, beach gear, towel, hat, water, sunglasses.

Places are limited to only 14 participants, so book in to avoid disappointment!

This workshop is suitable for digital cameras with manual controls (P, A/Av, S/Tv and M modes) including DSLRs, Micro Four Third cameras, mirrorless cameras and advanced compact cameras. Workshop notes are provided.
