Madagascar Photography Tour Gallery
Madagascar, the land lost in time, is a stunning destination for photographers looking for subjects and experiences that are off-the-beaten-track. The world’s fourth largest island, Madagascar broke away millions of years ago during the continental drift and, because of this, is home to some of the world’s rarest and most unique flora and fauna. The home of 18 tribes, Madagascar is also rich in cultural history and practices, and our tour visited a number of villages where we participated in (and photographed) a number of ceremonies and traditions, including the “turning of the bones” – a ceremony where a family celebrates its ancestors by visiting the tombs and warming the remains of their ancestors up and cladding them in new shrouds.
Here is a selection of images from our tour in Madagascar, which was run via Cultural Connections Photography Tours. Enjoy! And if you’re keen to join me in the 2017 tour in Madagascar, you can find out more about it here.
