Let’s attune with nature and awaken our creativity in the riverine environs of the Swan River at Guildford.
The “Riverine Rambles” is a photowalk that leads you to try new ways of seeing, capturing and creating images of the environment as we meander across Barkers Bridge and along the banks of the Swan River. There are river view, reflections and patterns in nature to be discovered. Bring along your filters and try some creative in-camera movement (ICM) images. We will also photograph along the streets of Guildford (en route to Barkers Bridge) so you can also train your eye towards light, structure, shapes and forms of buildings and the urban setting.
Get some tips on capturing light, details and on creating ICM imagery (see below for what you need to do ICM); take a slow walk with like-minded photographers and creatives.
Recommended equipment:
Your camera and similar image-capturing device. Smartphones and analogue cameras are welcome!
Lenses in the 24-105mm range.
Circular polarising filter – if you’re planning to cut reflections.
Fully charged camera/smartphone battery.
Memory card for digital cameras.
Neutral density filter (ND32 or ND64) – if you intend to try your hand at ICM.
Put on your walking shoes, grab a hat and your spirit of adventure! This walk is open to photographers of all levels and styles.
After the event, you’re free to further explore Guildford on your own, or join in for a social beverage and chat with others at the Rose and Crown Hotel in Guildford (just down the road from the Visitors Centre meeting point).
