If “iso” has you pining to head outdoors for some portrait photography, then join us for this small and exclusive natural light portraiture workshop that’s all about finding and using location lighting in the Australian bush! This workshop is available only to 6 participating photographers and we will be featuring two models (male and female).

The main focus in this workshop is on shooting available light portraits in a natural setting, making use of location, background and learning to see and use light. You’ll also learn how to use the longer focal length lenses (85mm, 70-200mm, 135mm, 90mm on full frame sensors) to shoot location portraiture, deploying the ultra shallow depths of field and perspective compression that these lenses create in order to take beautiful portraits.
What you will need:

What you will need:
  • Your interchangeable lens camera (DSLR or mirrorless).
  • Lenses in the focal length range of 80mm – 200mm (full frame equivalent; if you use a crop frame, then the crop frame equivalent will be sufficient).
  • A reflector (optional).
  • Good walking shoes. We also recomend that you wear trousers as we will be shooting in bushland locations.

Note: In the event of inclement weather on the first date of this workshop, it will be re-scheduled for Sunday 31 March. You will need to be available on both dates if you book into this workshop.

Covid-19 compliance: You will also be expected to maintain social distancing during this workshop ie. maintaining 1.5 metres distance between yourself and other participants, the models and your instructor. Please do not attend this event if you are unwell or have the flu or flu-like symptoms. Note also that this workshop will only run while the WA Government policy on gatherings of no more than 10 people is in effect. Should a change in policy result in a reduction of sizes of gatherings, then this workshop may be cancelled (in which case you will be fully refunded your fee).
