Calling all landscape photography lovers and enthusiasts!

The “Landscape Inspiration Day” is just for you, to help inspire, educate and help you take your landscape photography to the next level.

Come and join six of the most creative, innovative and talented landscape photographers in Perth for an unforgettable weekend, and learn about their vision, tips and techniques with you across a series of seminars! Included in the day are two optional location shoots: a sunrise at Bardon Park overlooking the Swan River, and sunset at Matagarup Bridge.

SPEAKERS

Nathan Dobbie (Nature by Nathan) – A life immersed in landscape photography has seen Nathan travel across this state chasing the most epic locations and scenes for his photography. Specialising in wide angle epic landscapes and drone photography in wilderness areas, Nathan’s landscape images immerse you in the lay of the land. He has spent years perfecting his technique (both in image capture and post-processing) and he will be sharing his images, stories, tips, techniques and editing pointers with you!

Liz Barker – Multi-award winning photographer of cityscapes and build environments, Liz Barker joins us to speak about how she chases light, lines, compositions and subjects in human-made environments. From modern cities in the Netherlands to architecture of the Renaissance in Italy, Liz will show how you can see the grandeur in city landscapes and photograph its incredible soul.

Johannes Reinhart – You would not normally associate the very talented and incredibly inspirational Johannes Reinhart with landscape photography, and that’s the whole point of his talk. Johannes photographs landscapes like a renegade; he avoids capturing tried and true images, instead looking for the interplay of light, shape and lines in creating evocative, individual and very unique visions of landscapes, both natural and urban. Johnannes will show you how to break away from tradition, to turn your back on picture-perfect postcard pics, and to carve your own way as a renegade landscape photographer!

Nigel Gaunt – Have you ever wondered about what it takes to put together an exhibition of your landscape photographs? Then join Nigel Gaunt of Red Dirt Photography and learn how to get your work up on walls. From the creative side of choosing a theme for your exhibition, to the management of the exhibition details (finding a space, selecting work, printing and installation), you’ll discover the excitement of putting together your work for public display.

Mark Greenland and Olivia Vincent – Mark and Olivia, two remarkably creative photographers and stalwarts of the Perth photographic scene, will show you how to create inspirational landscape images by adding a dash or three of creative thinking into the shaping of your images. Learn about the structural composition of landscape images and how you can arrange them for a gestalt effect through creative digital editing. Take a leap into creative conceptual landscapes with Mark and Olivia!

SHOOTS

Sunrise shoot at Bardon Park, looking towards both the City of Perth and Optus Stadium. This simple location presents clean lines and views in a riverside environment.

Sunset shoot at Matagarup Bridge (Optus Stadium side), to give you the opportunity to put what you have learned about urban environments, compositional structures, lines and light into practice.

* Note: In the case of inclement weather, the sunrise and sunset shoots may be cancelled or re-scheduled at the discretion of the event organiser.
