Master the Manual Exposure Mode on your camera and gain greater control of your photography!
Date: Saturday 14 December 2024 Duration: 10.30am – 12noon Price: $120 Instructor: Seng Mah Maximum participants: 8 Location: Fremantle (Workshop location will be emailed to participants).
Pre-requisite: You’ll gain the most out of this workshop if you already have a basic understanding of your camera, especially Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO.
Mastering Manual Exposure is a significant photography skill — it differentiates photographers who have the ability to get the exposure they’re after from those who let their cameras “take control” and hopefully fix and enhance things in post-production.
Understanding Manual Exposure is critical to being able to problem-solve exposure and lighting challenges. What happens if your images appear too bright, or too dark when you’re shooting in Auto or Priority modes? How do you make sure that your exposure for scenes and subjects are consistent during the shoot?
In this workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of exposure and the way your camera’s Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO work in order to obtain exposure. You’ll find out techniques to use in order to make sure you obtain consistent exposure in your shots, and how to use Manual Exposure to trouble-shoot in difficult lighting situations.
At the heart of this is the concept of the “exposure triangle”, a visual metaphor that represents the way photographic exposure work. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to apply the triangle in working out the exposure you need for the shot. You will also learn how your camera “sees” light in the world, and how the exposure metering modes in your camera allows you to change the way the camera interprets light in a scene.
This is the workshop that will take your photographic technique and understanding to the next level. Learn from a pro so that you can shoot and expose like a pro.
