If you have a passion for the great outdoors and would like to know how to photograph animals in their natural habitat (or even in the zoo), then this event is for you!
“Wildlife Photography Essentials” will take you on a journey through the mindset of a wildlife photographer. This is a great introduction to the world of wildlife photography: you’ll learn the best lenses and equipment you need, how best to use them, the “pro secrets” of taking great images of wild animals and tips for working in a natural environment and becoming familiar with the behaviour of the birds and animals you intend to photograph.
We’ll start with an information-packed seminar where wildlife photographer, Craig Franke, will show you how to think and shoot like a wildlife photographer. You’ll learn techniques, settings, trouble shooting and strategies for photographing wildlife, including birds.
This is followed by a field trip to a nearby nature reserve where you will have the opportunity to practice what you have learned. Craig will be available to answer your questions or assist you if you ask for help or guidance during the field trip.
Find your wild side (and the wildlife photographer in you) in this workshop! Places in this mini workshop are limited to 12, so book early to avoid missing out.
Note: Should the weather be inclement on the day of the workshop, the field trip will be postponed to another date.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Your interchangeable lens camera or superzoom camera with more 80x or more magnification.
- A telephoto lens. We recommend at least a 70-300mm lens, but suggest longer lenses such as 100-400mm or 150-600mm.
- Optional: A monopod.
- Notebook and a pen.
NOTE: This workshop is suitable for interchangeable lens cameras with manual controls (P, A/Av, S/Tv and M modes) including DSLRs and mirrorless cameras. It is also suitable for superzoom cameras that let you get more than 80x magnification.
