60 Kisses – 60 Minutes
Kissing. Pashing. Snogging. Whether a chaste peck on the cheek or a full-on exercise in mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, the kiss is synonymous with romance. With intimacy. With love.
“You must remember this, a kiss is just a kiss,” crooned Louis Armstrong.
While musing on what I could possibly shoot as my theme for the 60 Minute Snapshot Project at this year’s Beaufort Street Festival, I struck upon the idea of the kiss as a theme (actually, I was watching a dewy-eyed drama on the telly and there was a young couple going at it like there’s no tomorrow, which was inspiring to say the least). Just how many ways can a couple kiss? Let us count the ways.
To this end, I recruited a couple of models who just happened to be engaged — the towering and gargantuan Goyder and the small and petite Kat — and asked them to kiss. To pash 60 times in 60 minutes.
We started with the kisses that nice girls give their beaus, and ended up with something quite hot and steamy, and more suitable for Titanic than, say, Beauty and the Beast.
We didn’t exactly make 60 kisses. Actually, Goyder and Kat kissed about 66 times. Not a bad effort!
Here is a selection of images from the project. 10 will be exhibited at the Slaughterblouse in January next year – stay tuned for more news about this.
Enjoy the passion… and the pashing!
