Great street photographs come from a combination of intuition, timing, storytelling and having the eye for clear and powerful visuals. Mastering this genre of photography requires patience, practice, experience and inspiration!
“Street Photography Perspectives” is a seminar event featuring three of Perth’s most creative and talented street photographers, who will be sharing their approaches, techniques, tips and vision with you! Join Johannes Reinhart, Rebecca Wiltshire and Tony McDonough for an afternoon immersed in your love for street photography!
Speakers
Johannes Reinhart is a multi-award winning photographer whose street photographs have won him the title of Australian Documentary Professional Photographer of the Year. His ability to capture moments that are full of emotion and story has also seen him take out the Moran Photographic Prize. Johannes has an eye for visual storytelling and he will be speaking about his street photography techniques and approaches, and how you can find serendipitous moments that make amazing photographs.
Rebecca Wiltshire is a street photographer whose work focuses on capturing details, fleeting moments, emotions and interactions that pose a question, tell a story and engage the viewer. She is one of the founders of the “Unexposed Collective”, a platform for active and emerging Australian women and non-binary (NB) street photographers. Her street photographs have been exhibited in France, Italy and New York. In this seminar, Rebecca will share her approaches to street photography and how she finds these amazing moments of interaction and connection and photographs them.
Tony McDonough is a street photography with an extensive background in photojournalism, documentary photography and commercial photography. His professional experiences shooting for publications such as The Age, SMH, Australian Financial Review, The Australian, The Australian Magazine, New York Times Magazine, Fortune Magazine, Wall Street Journal (NY Edition) TIME and Paris Match has equipped him with a strong sense of visual storytelling that makes his images stronger and more engaging. Tony will be sharing his approach to shooting in a photojournalistic style with a strong storytelling aspect.
