Top Travel Shot – Contest Winners

Announcing the winners of our Top Travel Shot Contest, which we ran on our Venture Photography Facebook page over the last two weeks.

Entries ranged from photographs taken in regions near and far, from the tropics to the temperate rainforests of Tassie. Landscapes were popular, but so were observations of daily life and street portraits.

The main prize winner was selected through a two-stage process. Firstly, images would be voted by the public on Facebook, and the three images receiving the most votes would then enter the short list, with one selected as the winning image by judge Suz Crosbie of My Reflections Photobooks.

The main prize – a gift voucher to create a 20-page A4 premium photo book courtesy of My Reflections Photo Books – is JEFF BROWN. Jeff’s photograph of the vista from the summit of Mt. Kinabalu caught the eye of contest judge, Suz Crosbie, because it suited the theme of travel and exploration perfectly, and the fact that a good photo is more than just a document of time and place, but conveys a sense of the wonder that the traveler experienced.

Congrats Jeff! Please contact Suz at info[at]myreflections.com.au for your gift voucher.

My Reflections has also kindly donated a $20 voucher each to runners-up Samantha Kinkella and Adolfo Chavez for their images. Sam and Adolfo, please email Suz at the email address above to claim your vouchers! Furthermore, My Reflections Photobooks has also offered the other contest entrants a $10 voucher. If you have entered this competition and did not win, please contact Suz at My Reflections Photobooks via email (info[at]myreflections.com.au) with your name and let her know that you entered the Venture Photography Workshops Top Travel Shot contest.

Thanks to My Reflections Photobooks for the terrific prize, and congrats once more to our first contest winner, Jeff Brown.

Venture Photography Workshops will also award a copy of “Digital Photography Masterclass” by Tom Ang to the photographer of the image that we felt best captured the theme of the travel shot. The prize goes to PETER EVANS, for his moody and magical view of Westminster House of Parliament in London. Peter’s image shows a great deal of thought in composition, with image elements carefully positioned to create a sense of symmetry and weight. Well done, Peter! Please contact us at seng[at]venturephotography.com.au to organise collection of your prize.
