Our WA coastline provide some of the best opportunities to do amazing seascapes photography. This workshop will show you how to set up, compose and shoot amazing seascapes in some of the best locations in Perth for this style of photography!

You’ll learn:

  • How to photograph seascapes using a wide angle lens, to create a strong foreground and to maximise depth of field in your image.
  • How to photograph seascapes using a longer lens, to create images that hone in on detail and creating abstract or minimalist seascape images.
  • How to use ND filters to create long exposure water movement and choose the best filter for the effect you’re looking for.
  • How to work with the ever-changing light at sunset, to make sure you capture beautiful golden light and the dusky hues of the blue hour.

The location for this mini-workshop is Burns Beach, which presents plenty of opportunities for seascape photography.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • DSLR or Interchangeable Lens Camera with spare battery (long exposures chew up a lot of battery life).
  • A wide angle lens (eg. 10-20mm, 16-35mm, 18-55mm) and a mid-range telephoto lens (eg. 24-105mm, 24-70mm, 50-250mm).
  • A stable tripod.
  • ND filters (we recommend at least an ND32/5-stop filter) for your lenses.
  • Cable release.
  • Clothing suitable for the weather.
  • Sunscreen.
  • Insect repellant.
  • A headlamp or small flashlight for when it gets dark.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn to shoot amazing seascapes and landscapes. Places are limited only to 15 participants. See you there!
