Photo Opportunity: Perth Monthly Model Photo Shoots

Want to photograph models?

Perth hobbyist photographers now have a fantastic opportunity to work with a number of models and stylists at on-location photoshoots, thanks to a team of creative models and stylists. The brain child of Perth model Sarah-Jane Mercier, the Perth Monthly Group Photo Shoots bring together models, stylists, make-up artists and photographers in a casual, dynamic photo shoot that provides networking opportunities for all involved.

Organised through Facebook (you’ll need a Facebook account to join the online group and be informed of upcoming shoots and locations), the monthly group photo shoots are a great deal of fun and, best of all, it’s open to photographers of different levels, from beginners to professionals. All you need is a camera, a passion for people photography and the desire to take creative photographs of gorgeous models!

Here are some shots from a recent shoot I attended. This was held at the base of King’s Park, near the Swan Brewery. The location afforded plenty of different settings, from deep shade under sprawling fig trees to a rambling tropical forest complete with banana palms. Shade meant that we could shoot these models under soft, diffused light and make the most of the environment.

Jo-Anne – why don’t you join the monthly model shoot group on Facebook; they’re always looking for MUAs for those shoots and it would be a great opportunity for your portfolio building.
